Active Instagram users have more than a hundred photos on their profile. Unfortunately, on the social network, content is posted in chronological order. There are posts that you want to keep in a prominent place on your page. If you can’t change the order in which your photos are posted, you can pin the photo you want.
This option is useful for accounts that are engaged in business. The pinned post about promotions or sales will be visible to all visitors. The handy feature has long been requested by users from Instagram developers. Content in the profile was posted in a strict chronological order.
The requests were heard and the mobile app came with the ability to pin. Now up to three photos can be fixed on the first page of the account. The remaining six blocks are required for the most recent posts.
To pin a photo in the Android app, you need to open the profile. Unfold the desired post by tapping the icon with three bars with your finger. The vertical element is located in the right corner of the screen. From the menu that pops up, select “Pin to profile”. Instagram users will see the post first.
Pinned posts in the Android app will have a small pin-like dot in the corner. The visual effect will be visible not only to the account owner, but also to his visitors. The posts will be positioned in the chronology in which they have been committed.
If you want to pin a post in the iPhone app, you need to rotate the photo. Touch the horizontal three dots on the screen and open the menu. In the settings, select the option “Pin to your profile”.
If you hold your finger on the photo during the procedure, the “Pin to profile” option will appear “floating”. The pinned post will have a pin-like icon in the top corner. The chronology of posts will be incremented as the information is added.
Unnecessary content can be removed from frontend by user. Irrelevant publications from the front page of the account can be deleted. Items remain available in the history.
For the Android app, open the post, tap the menu with vertical bars with your fingers. In the window that pops up, select the “Unhide” option. After deletion, the news feed will be displayed in the same chronological order as before it was committed.
In the iOS app, open the publication, tap the three horizontal dots with your finger. In the list of options that appear, select “Unhide from profile”. If you hold down the post for a few seconds, an edit menu pops up to remove the photo.
The pinning feature only works for apps. If you can’t find it on your Android or iOS gadget, we recommend updating to the latest version. There is a limited version in browsers, so there is no update to the interface.
No more than 3 posts can be pinned on Instagram. If you try to commit another picture, a message will appear saying that the limit has been reached. If the user confirms the action, the image that was pinned first will be deleted by the system.
The posts are displayed on the page in the chronology in which they were committed. The apps do not support drag and drop and sorting. If the order of the account holder is not satisfactory, then all posts will have to be detached and re-posted.
If the post is not new, it will not appear in the subscribers’ newsfeed once it has been committed. Instagram will not send notifications to people who are subscribed to the account. You cannot pin someone else’s post to your profile.
